Gamespresso says Ubisofts latest entry to the Far Cry world is a solid addition, though it still falls short from some of the flaws of its brother game, Far Cry 4, and at times feels its giving too much at once to the player.

Ben Salter of MMGN: Valley of the Yetis is fun from a gameplay standpoint, and adds a new dynamic through giant beasts not seen in the main game. The dedicated area explores the snowy Himalayas, which only got a brief look in the original story, but its exactly what DLC shouldn't be, and Im concerned such an important developer doesn't understand its purpose aside from making extra cash. It resets all skills and items, which is awful in its own right, only to make them considerably easier to re-earn, cheapening all effort spent playing the main game. I have to consider Valley of the Yetis to lessen, rather than improve, Far Cry 4. Its not bad as an isolated experience, but if youve poured 40 hours into Far Cry 4 and loved every minute of it, do yourself a favour and dont return to Kyrat.

WGTC:
Poor Ajay Ghale didnt know what he was getting himself into when he took a trip back to his familys homeland of Kyrat after the death of his beloved mother in Far Cry 4. The same is also true of the games brand new side campaign, Valley of the Yetis. In fact, the change from positive to negative occurs even faster this time around, thanks to an abrupt and unexpected helicopter crash.
